Between The Satin Sheets

Fifty Shades Of Grey by E.L. James:

Attention all Twi-hards! (I will not hold it against you if you're not)

For all who don't know, Fifty Shades of Grey originates from Twilight fan fiction and was called "Master of the Universe".  This book was the first of it's kind to mesh the likes of Twilight fandom with "kinky fuckery".   Don't fret if you are not totally in love with Edward Cullen and you hate everything that sparkles in the sun.  Fifty Shades of Grey is in a league all its own and it will have you swooning uncontrollably for the very handsome and sexy Christian Grey.

Fifty Shades of Grey takes you to Portland, Oregon where you meet the seemingly normal Anastacia Steele.  A student of Portland University and an employee at a hardware store, this average gal has no idea what she signed up for when she helps out her best friend and roommate Kate who becomes ill and can no longer interview the billionaire mogul, Christian Grey…( Big, big, big mistake on Kate's part).

From the moment that Christian and Ana meet, the attraction between the two is undeniable.   Ana keeps her distance thinking she has nothing to offer this beautiful specimen of a man.  Christian on the other hand cannot stay away.  He has some dark, sexy and seductive plans for the innocent Ms. Steele.

Fifty Shades of Grey will definitely keep you Reading Between the Sheets.  Put it this way, if this book doesn't rev up your sex life with your significant other, then I am going to assume that you do not have a pulse.  If kinky sex is not your thing (I feel bad for you) then there is a wonderful love story that unfolds between these two characters.  Although these books don't bear the names of our beloved Edward and Bella, you can feel the similarities in their personalities and this alone will have any person, Twi-hard or not, swooning at the chance to read this fabulous book.

Bared to You by Sylvia Day:

Romance, passion, love, lust and of course some well plotted drama... Bared to you introduces the readers to the strong willed Eva Trammel, who escapes her troubled past in California and finds herself in New York with a new apartment, job and outlook on life.  While starting her career in the ad agency business, she crosses path with the multi-billionaire playboy and oh so yummy Gideon Cross.  Instantly, the pair are drawn to each other but Eva knows that her past could ultimately jeopardize the handsome moguls empire.  Little does she know that just like her, Gideon also shares a similar history.  Follow this passionate, lusty romance as they try to fight through all their demons while trying to sustain a "normal" relationship.  Bottom line, if you are looking for a book that will take you on a roller coaster of kinky sex but leaves you swooning and breathing heavy at the end, Bared to you will definitely deliver.

This Man by Jodi Ellen Malpas:

Yet another billionaire love story? You bloody well believe it!   With the English  countryside as a backdrop, This Man is tells story of a steamy affair between Ava O'Shea and Jesse Ward.  Jesse, a devastatingly handsome playboy hires an up and coming interior designer, Ava O'Shea to redecorate his Manor. This larger than life country estate has Ava breathless from the moment she enters the gate and once she looks into those emerald green eyes she knows that she won't be able to keep her distance for long.  The heat from this man is present from the first meeting but Ava couldn't have imagined what's waiting for her once she jumps down this rabbit hole.

With love of all things British related I feel in love with the charming English terms and found myself fawning over the unpredictable billionaire. Although the foundation is reminiscent of a certain "Grey" book, this story is different enough to keep you engaged in this hot and heavy romamce.

Beneath This Man:

The second book in a trilogy is not always just filler...It's been five days since Ava walked out on Jesse Ward sending her life crashing down around her.  After learning Jesse's secrets along with their confrontation at Lusso how could she ever go back?   Then again how could she not.  With Jesse's demons now becoming more clear Ava has some big decisions to make.

I have a love hate relationship with this book.  Now being fully invested in these characters I cant stop reading, but the way Jesse tramples Ava is maddening.  How many times can she give into his this man, and the big shocker of the book definitely took my love of Mr. Ward down a peg or two.   I wish Ava would have more of a back bone instead of getting "sense f*cked" into submission. The supporting characters really come to life in this second book.  The relationship with Kate and Sam, the truth about Sarah, and the softer side of Big John behind those dark shades.   Hopefully book 3 brings back that sweep-you-off-your-feet Jesse.

This Man Confessed:

Not everything that happens at the Manor stays at the Manor.  The conclusion to the "This Man" series begins with the wedding of Jesse and Ava.  Jesse Ward our reformed player has found his better half in Ava O'Shea.  With the impending nuptials comes a sense of security for the couple, but will it be enough for Ava to overcome the demons in Jesse's past?

The end is bitter sweet for me.  This series had me engaged and the spicy Manor set the backdrop for a whirlwind romance and tumultuous relationship between these two.  In the end this series is wrapped up in a neat little bow that makes me happy and sad all at once.  Kudos to Jodi Ellen Malpas for a great trilogy. Now if only it came in paper back.
