Meet The Girls

Janelle

Hello all my fabulous readers!!  My name is Janelle and I am a wife of 6 years and have a beautiful 5 year old daughter.  I truly enjoy all the small things in life, I never take myself too seriously and I have unofficially dubbed myself the "Queen of Young Adult Fiction".

My love for reading started later in life.  More specifically, six months after I gave birth to my daughter.  I was a new mommy who needed to escape the every day monotony of feeding, burping and changing diapers...without leaving the house, of course.  To be honest, my mommy wardrobe consisted of yoga pants, spit up drenched shirts and the messy, mom hair do.  Now, I don't want anyone to get the impression that I didn't love being a mommy and all the duties that came along with the territory but I just didn't want to lose myself completely to mommy-hood.

So, along comes this little book series called "Twilight"  ... yes, TWILIGHT!  I am totally one of "those" people.  Well, I happened to pick up the book while shopping at Costco.  It was $7, so I figured if I never opened the book or even if I hated it, I was totally fine with chalking up the money.  Let me tell you, it was the best money I have ever spent. I took the book home and was immediately invested in these characters and their story.  I'm a complete hopeless romantic and just swooned my through the pages.  I couldn't believe that the words of someone else made me feel things I haven't felt since the beginning of my relationship with my husband.  Needless to say, I read all 4 books in a matter of days.  At the end, I was left wanting more.  I wanted to feel those same feelings again.  Be whisked away to some other world without leaving my bed.   In total, I read the Twilight series over 10 times trying to chase that high.  Each time reading it, the more and more the feelings faded.  I realized that I needed to expand my horizons and search for another book that can take me where I wanted to go.  Five years and countless books later, here I am, sharing, swooning, loving and discussing books in hopes that I can capture that high as well as share it with others.

Read Between The Sheets is a place dedicated to all those who are trying to chase that wonderful book high by sharing our thoughts, reviews and recommendations.  I hope you are all immersed in books that touch your mind, body and soul... More so, I hope to hear all about it.  Enjoy!

Patricia

Where to begin, where to begin... My name is Patricia and I am the married mother of a darling little girl.  Although reading for fun is something I've done sporadically since I was a teenager, I have only recently become more active with my hobby.

Growing up with five brothers and sisters TV time was limited and letting the middle child have control of the cable box didn't happen much.  So for me reading became my escape.   As an adult between, work and motherhood "me time" was almost non existent until one night when I couldn't sleep so I cracked open The Da Vinci Code.  Two days later running on fumes and more than a few cups of coffee I was done, but I wasn't ready for the series to end.  I then went out, bought the other three books Dan Brown had written and finished them all with the same intensity.

Once my friend Janelle introduced me to twilight (even though I was a little skeptical) I was once again became hooked on a book that had me sleep deprived and wanting more. Only this time I had someone to vent all my frustrations and swoons with.  After that we became those "twilight book pushers" dragging all our girlfriends into our latest obsession.  Our book club blossomed from there and I'm so excited to share my tips, thoughts, gripes and love of the books to come with all of you.
